I'm going to repeat an old statement I've made elsewhere regarding why I don't believe that assessment holds up to scrutiny, why lowering its complexity wouldn't be addressing the real issue in regards to why it isn't more popular.The following issues have been addressed in this update:- Fixed issue where users can enter password-protected player rooms without entering the password.- Fixed issue where the textbox instantly disappears when trying to call it up with a specific Button Configuration setting.- D-input buttons are now rightfully assigned as equivalent to their X-input counterpart buttons.Due to this modification, users may experience their button configurations to be mixed up after the patch. ![]() ![]() As much as I love GG, it can be argued that it's just too weird even by the standards of its niche to resonate with a broader audience.Īrc had only intended for BlazBlue to be a placeholder while they attempted to get all of the rights back to Guilty Gear and refine the 2.5D techniques they would put to use with its revival, but it ended up supplanting it as their flagship franchise instead. The rock and roll theme could be argued as another factor, particularly considering the fact that Ishiwatari's work on BB's soundtrack has more variety beyond his usual leanings, but the more traditional, mainstream anime sensibilities associated with BB were what helped it gain significantly more traction among consumers.
